Had ook al op je video van de A4 gereageerd naar Katowice. Deze weg zal ik ook doen op 5 juli. Wat een prachtige vergezichten en ook niet heel druk lijkt me. De regio onder Rabka Zdroj heb ik wel horen vallen dat problematisch is door de bouw van een nieuwe snelweg daar.

The strangest thing for me is that on these expressways, as in the film of a clearly lower standard (short entry/exit lanes, no emergency lane), they have the same basic speed limit (i.e. 70 mph) as on highways. PS, how many tickets did you get this time because, as usual, you were driving faster than most? ;)

It's a nice and quick road to drive on! Was there in 2022 driving from Wales to Scotland.

Nice one mate. Fun fact about the bit of A55 by Conwy and Colwyn Bay, that section of road is a Special Road and because Special Roads in the UK don’t have a maximum speed limit they can’t use the National Speed Limit sign on them which is why that section has 70 signs instead

Hi Sven, since 2024 the highway arounf Brno bas been under construction from 2x2 to 3X3. ALL other highways around Prague are planed to by widen from 2x2 to 3x3 by 2030

Berlin is one of the weirdest capital cities of Europe. It's not the richest city of its country, not the economically best performing city of the country, only just the largest city of its country, geographically isolated in former Eastern Germany (which is bleeding people and performs the weakest in the hole of Germany) and it's a capital surrounded by woods and almost "desert" land .... Compare this with Paris, London, Madrid, ... or capitals like Stockholm, Copenhagen, Brussels, .... No wonder traffic is comparably feeble on the A2.

Warsaw is NOT a car city. Half of people in Warsaw doesn't have driver license. Public transport is very very popular here. If you compare it to Katowice metro area, Katowice are much more dependent on cars. Compare network of roads in Katowice, it's much more dense in terms of limited access roads.

it must be not only dangerous but also uncomfortable to stand in the emergency lane in a traffic jam when cars are speeding past... the risk of an accident in such situations is high

I think, Polish GDDKiA (Agency for national roads management) could consider to improve this circuit (from Podwarpie to Tychy) to full-profiled expressway. Anyway, very nice vid :)

In short: it shows how in Belgium we can't properly design neither a highway, express road or stroad. Belgian road design in all three road types sucks like hell, lacks consistency, is completely chaotic, laissez-faire design .... Bloody mess.
